What's New

May Newsletter

The May issue of our monthly newsletter, Ethical Views, is now online. See the schedule of Sunday platform talks, including two talks by Leader Richard Kiniry -- one of them has the intriguing title Born Again Humanism -- and a talk on Fostering Ethics in the Face of Globalization. Also, our annual Membership Meeting, President Howard Peer's memories of 14 years on the ESHoP Board of Trustees, how our Sunday School kids collected sneakers for Earth Day, how our members walked in the rain to protest the War in Iraq, and three chances to engrave your name into the Society's future -- through chairs, concrete blocks, or our Tribute and Friendship Fund. The newsletter is in two parts this month, click here and here to download (Adobe Acrobat required).

Founders' Day

We mark the 132nd anniversary of the start of the Ethical Culture Movement with reflections upon our history and philosophy. And meet our newest members, the Class of 2008. Sunday, May 11, 11 A.M.

Our New and Improved General Meeting

Besides the usual required chores — electing new officers and making annual reports (shorter this year) — we’re going to try something different. We’ll open the floor to your questions and comments. About what? About our platforms, our fund raising, our classes, our Ethical Action projects -- what’s on your mind? This is the last Sunday of the Ethical Society’s regular September to May platform schedule. Come and tell us how you’d like things to go next year. Sunday, June 1, 11:00 AM.

Camp Linden Volunteer Day

It's Spring Cleaning time at Camp Linden, on two Saturdays this month, May 10th and May 24th at 12 noon. The kids will be there for Summer Camp in no time, and don't forget our members' and friends' Camp Linden picnic scheduled for June 8!
